1st Annual SAMRC- UNIVEN Antimicrobial Resistance & Global Health Symposium 2023

The SAMRC/UNIVEN Antimicrobial Resistance and Global Health Research Unit conducts research on microbial, human, and environmental determinants of the acquisition and transmission of antimicrobial resistance. The Unit collaborates with community and policy makers to enhance our understanding of the dynamics of antimicrobial resistance for improved antimicrobial resistance stewardship. The Unit Director is Professor Pascal Obong Bessong. In September 2023, the 1st Annual SAMRC- UNIVEN Antimicrobial Resistance & Global Health Symposium was held at 2ten Hotel, Sibasa. SYMPOSIUM HIGHLIGHTS

    Prof. Angelina Maphula talked about knowledge, attitudes, and Practices (KAP) towards antibiotics.
    Prof. Pascal O. Bessong gave an Overview of the SAMRC-UNIVEN Unit.
    Dr. Andrew Musyoki (Scientist from Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University) was a moderator for the symposium round table discussion.
